Chiropractic Billing – Switching from Deals to Regular Services

Often times a clinic will offer a deal, such as a free exam or free x-rays, to patients as a promotion in order to get new patients into the clinic. Ideally, after the promotion these new patients will return and the clinic will have to switch them from the deal over to regular service.

One of the really wise things to do when you do that though is, when you get to the end of that free service you really should have a disclaimer signed by the patient stating that they understand that the free service has ended and all services from this point service will be at your regular fees.

Then the patient doesn’t get surprised. I’ve seen some board complaints result when the patient is surprised to get the bill after the deal was done, didn’t really understand what the charge was or what the deal was, and got confused about it.

So, a little written disclaimer at that point in time when that deal ends and the new thing starts is a wise thing to do.
